Our Programs

A fully equipped clinic, on the road.

Everything needed for screening, on one custom-fabricated vehicle — reaching communities that would otherwise have no access at all.

Inside the unit

What the mobile unit carries

Digital mammography

A Siemens Healthineers MAMMOMAT Fusion device, imported from Germany, fitted with a bus adapter for mobile use.

Pap smear testing table

A dedicated testing station for cervical cancer screening.

Twin generator sets

One generator powers the mammography equipment exclusively; a second powers the rest of the vehicle.

Climate & power systems

Power inverters, an AC unit, and a power distribution box with the option to run on external single-phase AC.

Water & handwash area

An overhead water tank with pump, and a dedicated handwash station for hygiene.

Centre cabin

A private, comfortable space for consultation and preparation.

Camp process

How a camp comes together

01

Identify a community

We partner with Rotary Clubs, companies, schools and NGOs to identify groups of underprivileged women who'd benefit from screening.

02

Awareness program

Before every camp, we hold a session explaining the importance of screening and what to expect — now supported by a dedicated awareness video.

03

Scheduling & registration

Our team works with KMCH to schedule the camp and register beneficiaries on the hospital's system, guided by our internal Camp Planner.

04

Screening day

The mobile unit travels to the camp location; the KMCH team conducts mammograms and pap smears on-site.

05

Follow-up care

Women who need further testing are invited to KMCH's Medical College Hospital, at no cost.

06

Free surgery

Where surgery is the right course of action, KMCH provides it entirely free of charge.

Four improvements, built from experience

Awareness video

Produced by Rotary Mettupalayam as the final expenditure of our Rotary Foundation Global Grant, and now shown before every camp to educate and reassure beneficiaries.

Beneficiary certificates

Since July 2024, every woman who completes screening receives an appreciation certificate — recognizing her, and encouraging others in her community to come forward.

The Camp Planner

A structured planning document distilled from years of operational experience, now streamlining communication with host organizations and speeding up camp preparation.

Automated SMS reminders

Beneficiaries now receive an automated reminder the day before their camp — a simple change that has measurably reduced absenteeism.

Our reach

30,000 sq. km, and growing

Camps are organized in partnership with local Rotary Clubs and community organizations, coordinated on the ground by our network of volunteer Regional Project Coordinators.
